Hi Coming to wdw in May. This is our first visit that we will not be staying on site. We have breakfast ressies at chef mickey and park fare. Can we park there? Is there a charge? can we leave the car and take the monorail or boat to the parks? thanks

    Hi Michelle!

It sounds like you are planning a great first visit to Walt Disney World! You've listed two of my favorite places to dine! Both character meals offer a very interactive and fun experience, plus, it is great to meet the characters while you are in a more relaxed atmosphere!

Parking at the resorts is free. When you arrive at the resort, you'll pull up to a security guard booth. Let them know that you have dining reservations at the restaurant, and they'll give you instructions on where to park.
You will only be allowed to park at the resorts during your meals, typically for about 2 to 3 hours.

While you can use the monorail or boat transportation as a day guest of Walt Disney World, you will want to park in one of the approved lots at the parks not the resorts, in order to do so. Depending on the time of your breakfast reservations, you may want to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, then use the monorail to get to the resorts. That way you can head right to the Magic Kingdom (if it is on your day's touring plan) without taking time out to move your car.

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!
