Hi Can you use a snack credit to purchase an alcoholic drink? And... at the food and wine festival will you be able to use a QS meal credit to purchase 2 food portions and 1 alcoholic drink,I know I can normally exchange it for 3 food portions. Thank you

Hi, Louise! This is a really great question, so I am glad you stopped by to check in with us. The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is my favorite fall destination! I usually visit a few times each fall so I can thoroughly explore everything the festival offers. It is so wonderful that guests can use their Disney Dining Plans in various ways to check out new and returning favorite tastes at the Global Marketplaces. The specifics for this year's festival have not yet been announced, so I am going to go off what I know about how the Disney Dining Plan was used at this year's Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

This year brought lots of changes to the Disney Dining Plans, such as the ability to include alcoholic beverages in your order with a meal entitlement. However, this is not going to translate directly when making a snack credit "swap." During the various Epcot festivals, the associated food booths (Outdoor Kitchens and Global Marketplaces) are not set up to directly accept either Table Service or Quick Service Dining Plan entitlements. However, guests can exchange a Quick Service meal entitlement for two snack credit-eligible items. Since alcoholic beverages are not snack credit eligible, you will not be able to purchase one when doing a swap. Another thing I want to note to you is that I did mention that two, not three, items could be picked for the swap. It is true in previous years that you could get three items, but that is another 2018 change. This year, the dessert portion was removed from a Quick Service entitlement and a snack credit was added per day.

Thanks so much for stopping by with your question, Louise! Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip!
