Johanna,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
While Disney has done a great job of expanding the array of digital payment options available to guests, they do still accept good old-fashioned cash! You will find that the restaurants and stores in
Disney's Hollywood Studios will accept cash as a means of payment. On our trip in April of this year, one of my teenagers used cash to purchase a pin at a store on Hollywood Boulevard.
One area where you won't be able to use cash is with the
Mobile Online Ordering system. That is the system where you can advance-order your food from select restaurants so that it is ready when you arrive. But don't worry, the restaurants that offer this service still have the opportunity for you to order in person, and then pay with cash. So if you want to try out one of my favorite lunches, the
Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread from
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, you can still order in person and pay with cash.
BONUS TIPIf you are staying at a Disney resort, you can apply cash to your resort account to use as payment throughout your trip. But if you choose to do this, only put what you know you will spend.
Why? Well, Disney cannot refund any of those transfers to you, so if you put $100 in cash onto your resort balance and only spend $90 of that, you lose the $10 balance.
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
