Hi!As part of our vacation package we have preferred viewing for Wishes and Illuminations. Where are the preferred viewing locations? How far in advance of each show would we need to arrive? Would you recommend using the preferred viewing locations? Thanks!

Hi, Elizabeth!  There are people who absolutely love the preferred viewing areas, as it allows them to arrive a bit later to view the fireworks and still get decent viewing.  The preferred viewing area at the Magic Kingdom is just near the Plaza Restaurant, which is at the part of Main Street, USA where it joins with the circle in front of the castle.  The only drawback to viewing there is the trees, which can inhibit some of the viewing, but otherwise, it's a great spot.

Illuminations preferred viewing is just by the Morocco boat launch area.  It's really a great spot to watch Illuminations from, although there are so many good spots around EPCOT to watch the show from.  If you are running a bit late and want to just squeeze in somewhere, you needn't worry about racing for the preferred viewing.

I would say if you are going to use the preferred viewing locations, to make sure you arrive in time for the show and get a comfortable spot, try to get there at least 20 minutes or so ahead of time.  I might even grab a snack and a drink, and allow 30 minutes if you are going during a busy time.

The preferred viewing is a great way to enjoy the theme park a little longer while other guests are lining up to get the best fireworks spot.  I would definitely recommend using them if you are there during a busy time of year, or if you like to straggle in a bit later for the show.  They are certainly good viewing spots!

I hope your upcoming vacation is filled with magical moments!
