Hi Amanda! Welcome to planDisney.
Thank you for your service to our country. My military family is so grateful for the fantastic discounts available to us when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. I'm so glad to hear you're planning a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and it's a pleasure to help you with your questions today.
Walt Disney World
Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at your local base ticket office. I strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance - they are tax-free when purchased on base, and you'll be able to link them to your
My Disney Experience account so you can do your advance planning.
Theme Park Reservations are required for all Guests ages 3 and older, and the Disney Park Pass System does fill up. If you wait until the day-of, there is a chance you will not be able to visit your theme park of choice due to capacity restrictions.
My advice is to call your base ticket office to ensure they have the ticket type you're looking for. Once you have the tickets,
link them to your My Disney Experience account using these steps. Once they're linked, you may make your Theme Park Reservations. Then, all you have to do is activate the tickets when you arrive - just visit any Guest Relations location and show your military ID to do that.
If you need to
call and speak with a Cast Member for assistance, it's best to do so during "off" times. In my experience, Friday evenings tend to have lower wait times. Phone lines are open 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST. Many Guests are eager to
Return to a World of Magic and enjoy all the pixie dust that's part of
The World's Most Magical Celebration, so please be patient and expect to wait on hold. I usually plan to multi-task while I wait, and I've definitely been caught singing along to the Disney hold music.
Thank you for stopping by with your questions, Amanda. If you have any further questions, please feel free to
ask me directly; I've used the military tickets numerous times and would be happy to assist with your vacation planning. As you plan and dream, be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and fun features to help you add your must-dos to your list. Have so much fun!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
