Unfortunately, there is no longer a pre-arrival discount for
MagicBands. I ran into the same thing when I just purchased ours a couple of weeks ago, too!
With that being said, if you’d like even more design options, you can check out
DisneyStore.com in addition to your My Disney Experience account, since prices are similar now.
I did still notice a couple of perks to ordering MagicBands through your My Disney Experience account, though. First of all, you will be able to customize your bands so that each person’s name is on the back of the band. And next, the MagicBands are automatically linked to each guest, making them super easy to set up.
Remember to make sure you order your bands 11 or more days in advance if you’d like them sent to your house prior to your trip.
If you decide you don’t want MagicBands after all, you can ask a Cast Member at the front desk of your resort for a Key to the World Card upon check-in. Or you can set up the
MagicMobile service on your phone. Both of those options will have similar functions.
Of course, the MagicBand+ has the interactive features that you won’t get with those options, though. And my boys absolutely loved seeing their bands light up during shows and attractions. It ended up being one of the highlights of the trip for them.
