Greetings, Georgina! Whether it's the
Marvel-ous 5K Virtual Events currently going on, or a journey into hyperspace with the
Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon this winter, runDisney Virtual races are a great way to keep in shape and stay motivated. And the best part is you get to choose the time and place that's convenient for you- whether that means running on a treadmill or a jog around your neighborhood (imagine the looks you'd get from your neighbors if you ran by in a Chewbacca costume)!
I spoke to a runDisney representative today, and she said if you are not a resident of the United States, then, unfortunately, the system will not allow you to register for the virtual races. She directed me to the policy on the
runDisney website, which states: "Please note this event is open to residents of the U.S. and U.S. Territories only, and medals may only be shipped to addresses within these regions."
However, my friend,
Lindsey, recently answered a similar question. In her research, she found that the racing policy for the virtual races is based on the mailing address you enter when you create your runDisney account. If you already have an existing account, go ahead and log in, and click on the 'My Profile' tab under your name. Next, you'll be directed to a screen containing your personal information. You should be able to edit your mailing address here. If you have any questions or concerns, give runDisney a call at 1(407) 939-4786, or send them an
email from the website.
Have fun running those magical miles, Georgina!
