Welcome aboard, Ebony! It is very exciting to begin planning your first cruise with Disney Cruise Line, isn't it? But I do understand that it can be overwhelming as there are so many magical options from which to choose! Four fabulous ships sailing all over the world! Where do you begin?
Well, it sounds like you've narrowed it down a bit to start with. You'd like to set sail from Galveston, Texas. Well, that is a good place to start. My family has set sail from Galveston a few times and it is a great place to begin a cruise vacation with Disney. The port is easy to get to and the people there have always been great! If you take a look at Disney Cruise Line's
"Find A Cruise" page, you'll notice that the next scheduled sailings from Galveston won't be until next year, November and December of 2015, when the Disney Wonder will make its home port in Galveston. I'm not sure how long it will port there, as the 2016 itineraries have not yet been released, but I would hope to see those new itineraries released sometime this fall.
If that sounds like a great time to sail, go ahead and take a look at the dates and options for sailing on the Wonder during those two months. But, if you'd prefer a different ship or itinerary, don't rule out sailing from other ports, especially Port Canaveral. When you play around on the "Find A Cruise" page, you can select sail months, length of cruise, ships and locations. This is the best way to browse the different options and find a cruise that is just right for your desires and your budget.
