hey Krista, i am from TN as well(middle TN). I am planning our 1st trip for 7 of us oct 1-8. should we get tickets to the parks on the 1st night we arrive? or should we hang out by the pool/hotel? we are driving and should be there 5 or 6pm Thanks

Hi, Traci! I'm always glad to hear from a fellow Tennessean! A first trip is an exciting adventure! Since I don't know the ages of your group, I'm going to give you an answer with a caution.  If you have very young or very old in your group, and the drive has taken its toll, I might consider staying at the resort.  You don't want the first evening to be a bad experience because they are miserably tired.  Walt Disney World resorts have great pools, and the group members that are tired could rest while watching the more energetic play.  However, I've found after a long day of riding in the car (with the anticipation of Walt Disney World hanging over your heads), it's great to go ahead and hit a park right away.  The adrenaline is up, and my kids are always chomping at the bit to get to a park.  When the October schedule is released at the first of April, you can see which park(s) is/are open late that night and hit the ground running.  It makes the vacation finally feel "real" after waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for your question.  I hope this is helpful.  Feel free to write again if other questions arise. Happy planning!
