Welcome to the Mom's Panel, Anthony! My kids love the Character Dining Experiences at Disney and have created "minnie magical memories" by having that close encounter with the characters table-side. I have great news for you! Because your son is under three years of age, he will be able to dine free at Character Dining Experiences and can simply eat from an adult plate at no charge. Breakfast tends to be the most economical meal of the day for a Character Dining Experience. Although I do love Chef Mickey's, it can be more expensive than some of the other Character Dining Locations. I would recommend 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Resort. This Character Dining Experience features Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. At 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast you can expect all-you-care-to-eat Mickey waffles, bacon, Hawaiian pork sausage, scrambled eggs, Island-style fried potatoes, fresh fruit, and Hawaiian bread all served family-style.Because it is not in a park, you can either dine here before going into a park or on a non-park day. Breakfast prices are currently $22.36 for adults 10 and older and includes tax, but not gratuity. Donald's Dining Safari Breakfast at Tusker House located in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park features a sprawling breakfast buffet and offers guests the opportunity to meet Safari Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Goofy. The current prices for late April are $26.62 for adults 10 and older and includes tax, but not gratuity. I called Disney Dining and these are the two most economical locations and times to dine. You will want to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for Character Dining Experiences by calling (407)WDW-DINE or by
going online here. I hope this helps! Please write back if I can offer any other dining suggestions for your upcoming vacation! Sending pixie dusted wishes your way that your son gets to dine with Mickey!
:-) Jodie
