Hey! I'm planning a vacation to Disney World October 16-23. I'm trying to plan how much money we should bring for food and some shopping. My kids (10 and 6) are very plain eaters, usually eat hamburgers or chicken strips and we don't want to spend alot.

    Hi Sondra,

I love the Walt Disney World Resorts in October! It is my favorite month to visit because of the weather and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival.

Let's start with shopping as this is the easiest to budget. We generally give our daughters' a budget at the beginning of the trip telling them how much they have to spend. If they want something extra, they need to spend their own money.

For food, a child's meal should cost about $6-7 at a counter service restaurant. An adult meal at a counter service restaurant is about $10-$12. Table service meals are more expensive.

You can find prices for food at the individual restaurants on Disney's website. You can also look at AllEarsNet.com for pricing. This will give you a general idea for making a food budget.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
