Hey Moms! Great Job! Taking my Family to the parks in February. I'm getting a hunch that most people take advantage of the parks with extra hours, should we avoid those parks on those days?? Base tickets so no turning back once were in!

    HI Jason!

You're right - Extra Magic Hours are popular! But, they are popular for a reason - often these times are the least crowded - especially Morning Extra Magic Hours!

My general rule of thumb is that if we plan to get to the parks early (the best way to avoid the crowds!) enough to take advantage of the Morning Extra Magic Hours, then we will visit that park for the day. However, if we're just not up to waking up early and getting to the park, then we will choose not to visit the park with Extra Magic Hours that day.

Since we don't always make it to park opening, our family may choose to take advantage of Evening Extra Magic hours instead. We tend to be late night folks, so this often fits in well for us. But, the same rule applies, if we don't plan to be there for the full Extra Magic Hours, then we'll choose an alternate park.

One great strategy, which I've heard often works, is to plan your visit so that are visiting a park which had Evening Extra Magic Hours the night before. Theory has it that most visitors will not return to the same park the next day. Instead they'll choose to visit a different park.

    Hope this helps!
