    Hey, hi! Can I use a foldable stool/Portable Collapsible Stool Retractable Stool, (9.7"D x 9.7"W x 17.5"H) at Disneyland?

Welcome back to planDisney, CharaMary! I’m so glad you reached out again. I’m always happy to help you prepare for a day filled with magic at the Disneyland Resort.

When it comes to bringing personal seating into the theme parks, there are a few specific guidelines to keep in mind. According to the Disneyland Resort Rules, mobility aids such as cane-chairs and seat-walkers are permitted. However, foldable stools, collapsible chairs, and similar seating devices are not permitted inside the theme parks or within the Downtown Disney District. These items will be stopped at the security checkpoints. At that point, Guests are welcome to return them to their hotel or vehicle. If that isn’t an option, the item may be surrendered at security and would not be available for retrieval later.

That said, comfort and rest are absolutely part of enjoying a wonderful Disneyland day, so I’m happy to recommend some alternatives. If you are looking for a mobility support option, wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available to rent at a facility located just outside the entrance to Disneyland. We’ve visited with friends who have used ECVs, and they found them very helpful for pacing the day at their own comfort level. (Plus, it made it easy for all of us to stay together as we explored).

If you’re instead simply looking for relaxing spaces to pause and take in the atmosphere, there are a few lovely seating spots that offer a quiet moment. One of my favorites is the patio near Stage Door Café in Frontierland. It has a peaceful view of the Rivers of America and tends to feel like a little retreat tucked among the bustle of the park. Another cozy resting area is under the monorail track near Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland (especially nice if you’ve just enjoyed the Matterhorn and want a calm moment afterward).

CharaMary, I hope this helps you feel more confident as you prepare for your visit. If you have more questions or would like suggestions tailored to your pace or plans, please visit us again at planDisney. We’re always happy to help.

Wishing you a wonderful and comfortable day at Disneyland!
