Hey there, as a DVC member how do I go about booking a Disney Collection room?

    Hi Kevin!

Welcome Home, and welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you stopped by with your question, as I am always happy to help my fellow Disney Vacation Club Members make the most of their Membership. Thanksgiving is a very popular time to visit, and I did notice that villa availability is pretty tight that week. I think many Disney Vacation Club Members, are excited to begin traveling again and make use of their Vacation Points. Booking a standard resort room within the Disney Collection might be the perfect solution.

To book a room within the Disney Collection, you will need to call Member Services. They will be able to check inventory and make the booking for you. I would recommend checking out the Points Charts to get an idea of what choices you would be interested in.

A few things about booking the Disney Collection you should know before you call. First, once you have moved Vacation Points into the Disney Collection, if you were to cancel, you would not be able to use them to book a Disney Vacation Club Villa, they would have to stay for use within the Disney Collection. Additionally, there is a fee associated with the transaction, that you will need to pay at booking. Finally, booking within the Disney Collection is subject to the Rule of Four. This means you cannot book and travel during the last four months of your Use Year. You can travel during that time frame if you have booked earlier, or book during that timeframe if you’ll be traveling in the next Use Year, but you cannot book and travel during those final four months.

If all of those things work for you, I would call Member Services to book your room! I recommend calling as soon as Member Services opens in the morning, at 9 AM EDT for potentially the shortest hold times. With many Members ready to travel again, hold times have been longer than I am used to. If you are like me and cannot call at 9 AM, I would call later in the day when I know I have a significant amount of time to wait, so you don’t have to hang up and call back another day.

I hope you can secure that perfect reservation, Kevin!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
