Hey Doug-another? Last trip we saved the last day for surprises for our DD (5,5,2). We did Charac. in Flight, minigolf & the "kitchen sink". What are some other ideas of special ways to end a perfect Disney vacation? Not in park, driving

    Erica,

It is very smart of you to plan out your departure day, so that you avoid that emotional let down of the vacation ending!

So one thing NOT to do is Downtown Disney or the BoardWalk. They really doesn't get very active until the later afternoon/evening time frame, so it can be just as bad as sitting in your room.

    So what CAN you do?

    • Pool time. Take a big ziploc bag for transporting the suits home, and you can have a great wind-down at the pool before heading home.
    • Character meal. Try a character breakfast at a resort (Chef Mickey's, O'Hana, 1900 Park Fare) or breakfast or lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe. These also let you have the fun of exploring their resorts.
    • Fort Wilderness Fun - Visit the Tri-Circle D ranch for some horseback riding
    • Marinas - consider going to a resort marina and renting some sea raycers. Maybe not ideal for a 2 year old, however.
Also, never rule out extending your park tickets by one day and visit the Magic Kingdom. Often you will find the incremental cost of one more park day is not as much as you think!

    Have a magical vacation!
