    Hey Doug! Planning a trip for mid October with DH and DS11. Want to have a resort day - swimming, water sports, biking. Been to Yacht Club, so I know how awesome Stormalong Bay is. Would you recommend Beach Club or Contemporary (never been)? Thanks!

    Cathy,

    So that is a tough one. Both resorts are a ton of fun. Here are a few points in favor of each;

    Pro-Contemporary
    I do not apologize for the fact that EVERY time my monorail goes through the Contemporary I sit up, my head swivels around with amazement, and I am 11 years old again. Mesmerizing. And being on the monorail is so convenient for both Magic Kingdom and Epcot access, as well as for resort hopping. Another plus is that it would be a new experience for all of you, since you have ostensibly experienced the Beach Club already with your Yacht Club stay.

    Pro-Beach Club
    Stormalong Bay. Enough said. But you also get that great access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, as well as the BoardWalk.

    BOTTOM LINE: I don't think the pool at the Contemporary is all that, so for me the call would be to go to the Beach Club. But you have kind of experienced that already, and there is something to be said about mixing it up. I would still say Beach Club, unless you really want to get a different experience in.  I think with an active 11 year old you get the added benefit of somewhere to go at night (BoardWalk) if you are not in to returning to a park.

    Either way you are set for some fun! Let me know what you decide, and we can work on some other ideas for your trip!

    Have a magical vacation!
