Hey Doug! I hear you're going to WDW in October. Me too! Have you heard any talk about the Wishes Dessert Fireworks Party being extended til the end of Oct? I would love to try it. Also, any word on military ticket discounts being extended past Sept. 30th?

    Stefanie,

If you see me in the parks, don't hesitate to say hi!

When Disney announced the return of the Wishes Dessert Fireworks Party, they did not mention if it was permanent or just for a limited run, but you can probably assume it will be active in October.

Another option that definitely will be active then is the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. Leaving from the Contemporary most nights, this cruise includes some great character interactions (Captain Hook, Smee, and a surprise guest from the same cast of characters!), a dessert reception beforehand, and a great view of the fireworks from the water. A few other pluses include that you are viewing the fireworks from the vantage point for which they are designed to be seen, you don't have to fight the park crowds, and you get some amazing entertainment along the way!

So either would be great, but in both cases make sure you get your reservations in!

As to the extension of the military ticket discount, I have not heard anything yet, so don't rely on it, but you certainly are allowed to keep your finger crossed!

    And thanks for your service!

    Have a magical vacation!
