Hey Bret, I'm a single dad & make plans for our family (& Grandpa & Grandma)! This year will be Grandpa's 75th birthday! How do we go about making party/dining reservations? Can we book w/ dining or have to wait and make them on site/arrival? T

Great to see another dad planner around here!!  Please send my congrats to Grandpa!! 75?  Wow!!

Regarding party/dining reservations, you absolutely should make reservations in advance as soon as possible.  Often you can make reservations as early as 180 days in advance (some exceptions apply, especially right now as the reservation system is getting updated), and many popular restaurants and events sell out very quickly.  So for any "must do" restaurant or event, I highly recommend you call WDW as soon as you can.

For dining reservations (including dinner shows like the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review), call 1-407-WDW-DINE.
For specific B-day party event planning you can call 1-407-WDW-BDAY.
For reserving a customized cake for a Table Service restaurant, you can call the "Cake Hotline" at 1-407-827-CAKE.
To reserve any special tours at WDW you can call 1-407-WDW-TOUR.
Also, if you have 8 adults or more in your party, consider setting up a "Grand Gathering" by calling 1-407-WDW-PLAN.

Bonus tip: Consider reserving a Wishes or Illuminations cruise for your party.  It could be a fantastic way to celebrate this special event as a group.  You can reserve these cruises by calling 407-WDW-PLAY (these cruises can be booked 90 days in advance).
