I am helping plan a trip for a friend in Jan 11. I have noticed a lot of the resturants have been taken off the meal plan choices for 2011. Example there is only one place to eat in Downtown Disney. Is this a misprint? Why the drastic changes?

    Hi Aimee,

You are sweet to help plan a trip for your friend. I am surprised that there is only one dining plan option for Downtown Disney. However, each restaurant contracts individually to the dining program. This being said restaurants could still add to the dining plan at any time.

If your friend wants to stay strictly on the meal plan, then eating at Downtown Disney is not an option in the traditional sense. However, here are some options:

    1. Head to Downtown Disney after you have eaten a meal which is on the plan and then just grab a snack while shopping.

    2. Try a restaurant at Downtown Disney like my family's favorites - Wolfgang Puck Express or Bongos - and then take the table service meal credit and apply it to a signature restaurant like the Flying Fish or a dinner show like the Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

I hope this helps your friend have a magical vacation!
