Moms HELP! 8/27-9/2-DDP.Strting to wonder if switching to Basic plan would be better? Reading alot about hot/humid weather and worry that appetites won't warrant 3 meals/day. Also reading about brkfst in room to save time. Want to see opening at MK.HELP!!

    Hi Paula,

Thank you for coming to the Moms panel!

Everyone is different but whenever I've visited in August I have always found the regular dining plan to be loads of food, if anything we often have a few quick service credits left over at the end and use them for sandwiches for the flight home. So for my family the deluxe plan would be way too much!

The way we normally eat at Disney is to eat breakfast bars or similar for breakfast in our room, we then eat an early quick service lunch in the parks and have a sit down table service meal in the evening. We also have a snack most days, we don't use them for water or popcorn though, we prefer to get ice cream sundaes, funnel cakes, crepes etc as these are more filling and well they're delicious too! If we ever eat at our resort we will often get a croissant or muffin as our dessert and save it for the next mornings breakfast, plus we're normally too full to eat the dessert anyway. We will also use our refillable mugs for our drinks but as the quick service meal comes with a drink we get bottled orange or apple juice to also use for breakfast the next day!

You also need to take into account how much time 3 table service meals per day will take, yes it will be a nice break from the August heat but it will also take away lots of park touring time. With the average meal lasting 90 minutes that's a long time to be away from the Disney attractions.

If you want to see the Magic Kingdom opening ceremony you'll need to arrive at the park roughly 20 minutes before the scheduled opening time on a non extra magic hour day.

I hope I've helped you come to a decision, whichever plan you choose though please call dining on 407-939-3463 or use the online booking service to make your reservations as soon as possible.

    Have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
