HELP!! I thought October was a relatively light month to travel! I tried to book for October 23rd-october 29th 2010 and it is saying that ALL moderate resorts are already full. Is this normal a year in advance?

Wow Lonna!  I too was actually shocked when I read your question.  No, that is not typically the norm a year in advance.  My first suspicion is there might be some sort of special event happening during that time like a sporting event, possibly?  The Food and Wine Festival takes place during that time and that might play a role and also MNSSHP is held during that time.  Combined, all of those things may be playing a part in the already booked rooms.
My first suggestion would be to continue to check in periodically with reservations, it never hurts to check.  Then if nothing opens up, I am thinking you might want to consider either a different resort or if at all possible alter your dates slightly to when there are openings.  If you call 407-WDISNEY, they can actually take a look at the October calendar and let you know what resorts are available during that month.
Thanks so much for the great question, and I hope something opens up for you!  Thanks also for coming to visit us here at the Mom's Panel.
