Help! We're stuck deciding between 2 very diff lodging options for early Nov: Contemp. (room in the main bldg) & AKL. Have 2 kids: 6 & 9. See pros & cons to each. Which is better? Which pool is better? Is travel time from AKL to 4 parks a deal-

    Hi Jill!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. My wife and I have stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with our children. While there are pros and cons to each resort, both are wonderful hotels for families. If you want the convenience of the Resort Monorail to take you to Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot, the Contemporary is obviously the best choice.

I would suggest a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for you, especially if your children enjoy swimming and other recreational activities. The 11,000-square-foot Uzima Pool has a 67-foot-long waterslide and two whirlpool spas. My oldest son loved spending time at the pool, as did my wife and I. Discovering the 30+ species of African wildlife on the savannah was also a lot of fun. A Wildlife Field Guide can be found in your Guest Room, or gotten from the Lobby Concierge.

We have not had a problem with travel time from the Animal Kingdom Resort area to the theme parks. However, we usually have our car with us. Complimentary bus transportation is available from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The bus stop at is located near the entrance, in front of the Giraffe Trail Guest Rooms.

Please let me know if I can assist you with any other questions regarding your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World.

    Have a magical day!
