I want to help my son and his family with a Disney vacation. Can I just buy a Disney gift card for them to use for tickets and other things?

Welcome to planDisney, Tammy! I am so glad you found us here to ask your question.

How generous that you are wanting to assist your son’s family with a visit to Walt Disney World! When making a Walt Disney Resort reservation, a $200 deposit is required to lock in the reservation. Then, at any time, payments can be made online, and in any amount. So, to answer your question, YES, you can purchase a Disney gift card to help with paying off the vacation package.

You can purchase Disney Gift Cards at a local warehouse club store (with maybe a small discount), or at the Disney Gift Card website. You can combine these cards on the Disney Gift Card website (up to $1000 per card), and then gift them to your son to pay for some of his vacation.

I hope this helps with your planning your generous gift! Please come back to planDisney with other questions that you might have about Walt Disney World.

    Happy Planning,
    Tracy

GAWRSH! Hiya pals! I am a Goofy-loving mom of 2, who is married to my real-life Prince Charming. My family supports my passion for all things Disney. Walt Disney World was my very first vacation, when I was just 3 months old, and I recently completed my 73rd trip to a Disney location! I have been fortune enough to parasail high above the Disney Fantasy, attend opening day of Batuu, snorkel in the lagoon at Disney's Aulani, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't wait to help you plan your Disney vacation!
