Heigh-ho, Michelle! It's off to Walt Disney World Resort you go! Since your booking window for purchasing Lightning Lanes opens soon, let's talk about strategies to help you get the most magic from your visit.
As a guest of a Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel, you can typically purchase the new Lightning Lane Premier Pass
seven days before check-in. Since the product is brand new, it won't be available until 7:00 AM EST on October 30. I see your dilemma, Michelle; you'd like to be assured of at least having a
Lightning Lane Multi Pass in case the Premier Pass sells out. This is new territory for all of us, but I have some suggestions.
Lightning Lanes are nonrefundable and nontransferable, so there currently isn't an option to upgrade. However, you can
modify dates and theme parks for Lightning Lanes, which would be one option. Since the new Premier Pass can only be purchased for one park, you could modify your Multi Pass for a day you plan to park hop, for example.
Another option is to keep both! I've heard some guests plan to purchase Premier and Multi Passes for the same day to experience attractions more than once. Each pass only gives you one chance to ride, so having both would double the magic! You could even add some
Lightning Lane Single Passes for a true VIP Disney day.
Finally, you can stop by
Guest Relations at any theme park and explain that you purchased the Lightning Lane Multi Pass in case the Premier Pass sold out on its first day. There's no guarantee they'll refund you for the Multi Pass, but it won't hurt to ask. The Cast Members onsite might have more suggestions and can also help modify your selections. Or feel free to call the
Existing Tickets line before you arrive.
Michelle, I'm sprinkling pixie dust so you'll secure a sparkling new Lightning Lane Premier Pass in a few days! How exciting that will be. Please
stop by planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
