Ahoy, Sarah!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Venturing ashore is the best way to experience the amazing ports of call offered on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, but with so many choices, it can be a bit overwhelming! I've snorkeled in the
Caribbean many times and found the experiences similar so I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices offered in St Thomas and Tortola. Some of the
Port Adventures offer only snorkeling while some allow you to enjoy beach time, multiple stops, shipwreck exploration and fun aboard the vessel. If you want to experience more than just snorkeling something like the
Caribbean Sea Safari, Snorkeling and Beach Tour in St. Thomas might be a perfect choice. If you really want to focus just on snorkeling,
Snorkel at Norman Island with two different stops in Tortola is something to consider. As you research, pay close attention to the time range for each excursion. It is always one of my deciding factors because my crew doesn't like to be off the ship all day. You'll also want to notice the price point if you are trying to stick within a certain budget. Once you've narrowed down how long you want to be ashore and how much you'll spend, I would recommend reading the descriptions and letting your family rank their choices. The good news is the Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure Team does a fabulous job of making sure your time ashore is a magical extension of your on board experience!
Good luck with your decision and happy planning!
Nancy
