HELP! I'm looking for a great non park restaurant for me and my 10yr old daughter.(late breakfast, lunch or dinner on DDP) I'm planing on taking her to the spa at Grand Floridian. We are coming Sept 29th.

Hi, Jennifer!  Whenever I do a mother-daughter thing with one of my girls that includes a spa treatment at the Grand Floridian, I always include a special mother-daughter meal there as well.  One of the nicest is at the Grand Floridian Cafe.  You can get sandwiches and salads (I love the Cobb salad) for something lighter, but they also have steak, fish and pasta available at lunch.  They also have a wonderful breakfast there, in case you decide to do that instead.  The Lobster Eggs Benedict is the ultimate indulgent breakfast, and the citrus pancakes are just delicious!

In case you decide to go off of the Disney Dining Plan for one meal and do something different, I also love the afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian.  I am drooling all over the keyboard just thinking of the scones, but you can opt for a full tea service that includes sandwiches, pastries, and scones.  They also have an a la carte menu.

If you want to head out to a different resort, check out The Wave at the Contemporary Resort for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  The restaurant offers a changing menu to reflect the fresh market/sustainable concept.  It's a mid-range restaurant where kids as well as adults feel comfortable.

If you don't mind using the buses as transportation between your dining location and the spa, you might also look into the Maya Grill.  Breakfast here offers such options as a Brunch Burger, which is a Kobe burger topped with bacon and an egg.  They don't serve lunch, but dinner here is also a nice option for a meal away from the theme parks.

Have a great time with your daughter!
