Help!! My husband and I are taking our 3 girls to Walt Disney for the first time during the week of Thanksgiving. What is the best resort to accommodate 5 people? What do we need to bring?

Hi Portia! I'm so excited to help out a Fellow Alabamian.  Like your family, I have five in my bunch and we have some favorite Disney Resort hotels we love to stay at.  I'm so happy to share with you some of my top picks at different price levels.

At the value level, my crew loves the Family Suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  The Family Suites can sleep up to six Guests, and are adorably themed.  Inside the Family Suite you will find a kitchenette, two full bathrooms and three separate sleeping areas. The largest resort pool on Disney property is also here, The Big Blue Pool.  My kids love to splash around and listen to the amazing underwater sound system.

The moderate level Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside is another favorite.  Rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the Resort can sleep up to five Guests. In each room you will find two queen size beds, and a pull-down trundle sized bed perfect for children. This resort even offers water taxi service to Downtown Disney which is a great scenic transportation option.

Our favorite Deluxe hotel to stay at with our little ones is Disney's Beach Club Resort.  Guest rooms can sleep five, and include two queen beds, and a day bed.  The splashtastic 3-acre pool, Stormalong Bay  is an attraction in itself.   You will have a hard time prying your children away to go play in the theme parks.

Portia you have plenty of options to accommodate your party of five.  I hope you find one you are interested in.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions.   I love to help out fellow Disney-loving families.
