HELP: Is dressing up a must? We'll be visiting WDW later this month with our granddaughter 4yrs. We thought it would be fun to do the Pirates and Pals Cruise. Would it be a good idea to take her to the Pirates League before, or is she to young? 1st timers!

Ahoy, Caroline!  Welcome to the Mom's Panel!  How exciting you will be visiting Walt DIsney World in just a few short weeks with your granddaughter!  What magical memories you will create together in the "Happiest Place on Earth!"  My family experienced our first Pirate and Pals Fireworks Voyage in May and absolutely loved it!  We did not dress up for the voyage and they gave each guest a themed bandana to wear when we checked in at Disney's Contemporary Resort. I don't personally feel dressing up is a must; however, I do think getting a piratical transformation at The Pirates League earlier in the day would add to the experience. The Pirates League located in Magic Kingdom Park is available for young buccaneers ages 3 - 12 so I definitely don't think your granddaughter is too young. My family did not visit a park on the day of our Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage so we simply wore casual dressy attire that we had worn to our table-service dinner that evening.  I would not hesitate to book a swashbuckling adventure on the Seven Seas Lagoon again as my children still talk about the Pirate and Pals Fireworks Voyage to this day. I hope this information helps! Please feel free to write me back with any additional questions. I would love to assist you in planning a Magical first Walt Disney World Vacation, Caroline!
