Hi Moms! Help me decide between POR & POFQ. I saw live pics of new POR Mansion rms (non-RR) and they are gorgeous! Had my heart set on FQ, but now thinking POR. What are the other resort benefits of each? Drawbacks? Family of 4 w/ DD5 & DS7. Thx!

Hi Diane! You'll love either Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ) or Riverside (POR), so it's a win-win! You may have looked at photos of the new Royal Rooms that will be opened to guests in March 2012, and they are gorgeous! Click on the link for the story on the refurbishments and new rooms on the Disney Parks Blog.

As per pros and cons, one of the best features of staying at either French Quarter or Riverside is that guests get to enjoy the amenities of both, including the pools. The pool at POFQ had a dragon slide, which is a hit with the younger kids, while the Old Man River Pool at POR is so fun with its waterfalls and slide. The resorts are a short walk or boat ride apart, so you can easily zip over to POFQ for some delicious beignets, and back to POR for a horse-drawn carriage ride.

    Hope this helps Diane!
