Hi, Gayle! What could be more magical than celebrating Christmas Day at Walt Disney World Resort?
While many guests will start their Christmas morning in line at the Parks, there are some who appreciate that Walt Disney World still offers traditional church services to honor this blessed day. The services are typically held in the Fantasia Ballroom at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, and the service schedule for December 25, 2019, is as follows:
— Catholic Mass: 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM
— Protestant Service: 9:15 AM
Note that the Contemporary Resort parking lot operates under parking restrictions, which means that unless you are staying there or have a dining reservation, you will need to use Disney transportation to get there. Guests staying at a resort located on the monorail line are encouraged to take the monorail or watercraft system to Disney's Contemporary Resort. You could also use a ride-sharing service or a
Minnie Van (if the service is available from your resort). If you want complimentary transportation, you can take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort from there.
While you're at Disney's Contemporary Resort, make sure you take a peek at the gingerbread display. It features Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Fairy Godmother in a style reminiscent of the resort's famous Mary Blair wall mural (look closely, and you might find Cinderella's glass slipper)! Afterward, I recommend stopping by
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa via the monorail to experience a true Victorian Christmas. The main draw here is the life-sized gingerbread house that's crafted from real ingredients and contains a bakeshop where you can purchase holiday treats.
One of my favorite activities to suggest on Christmas Day in Walt Disney World is a
Holiday Sleigh Ride at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I promise you won't even miss that New York snow during your scenic 25-minute excursion. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (407) 939-7529.
All of us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel want to wish you a Merry Christmas, Gayle! If we can be of any more help, please stop back again soon!
