Sarah,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
There are a few ways to get from
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House. Officially, you should take a bus from Port Orleans to
Disney Springs, and then catch a bus headed to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. As a general rule, this should work fine. There are, however, a few alternative routes that you might wish to consider.
Alternate Route #1: Time to sailWhile you can bus from Port Orleans to Disney Springs, you can also take a boat. The scenic ride typically takes a bit longer than the bus ride, but it can be a nice alternative if you have the time.
Alternate Route #2: Faster bus travelFrom Port Orleans, you could catch a bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and then transfer to a bus over to the Lodge. I prefer this, as it seems to be a faster route, at least in my experience. However, you don't want to try this if traveling so early in the morning or late in the evening that the buses from the theme park are not running.
BOTTOM LINEAs long as you are not traveling more than an hour before the park opening or an hour after the park closing of the Animal Kingdom theme park, I would go with alternate route #2.
BONUS TIPAs you likely know, there are two parts of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House, and Kidani Village. When you catch a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, it will stop at both. Or you can walk between the two parts to explore their different animal viewing areas!
