Welcome to planDisney, Eric, and happy early anniversary!
Ten years is such a special milestone, and I can’t think of a more romantic place to celebrate than
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. With its Pacific Northwest charm and location just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, it’s a wonderful spot for a peaceful getaway.
I completely understand your concerns about construction, especially when it comes to how it might affect the atmosphere during your stay. The good news is, from everything I’ve seen and heard, the impact should be minimal for most guests.
There are a few different projects happening in and around the area.
The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins are getting a soft goods refurbishment starting in mid-May 2025, but this work is limited to that section of the resort. If you’re staying on the main hotel side of Wilderness Lodge, it’s unlikely you’ll be affected at all. All amenities, including the dining and pools, will remain open and available.
As for the exterior work, that started back in 2024 and is expected to continue gradually through 2026. It’s mostly general upkeep such as painting and maintenance. You might spot some scaffolding here or there, particularly on higher floors, but it’s being done in targeted sections and shouldn’t take away from the overall feel of the resort. Guest rooms near active work are often kept out of service to minimize disruptions, and most reports from recent visitors describe the resort as just as beautiful.
In terms of the pool area, both the Silver Creek Springs Pool and the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool are scheduled to be open in late May 2025. You may see a bit of scaffolding in the distance, especially on the main lodge building near the feature pool, but the lush landscaping does a great job of preserving the serene atmosphere. If you’re looking for a quieter escape, the Boulder Ridge leisure pool is a lovely option too, though depending on how far along construction is on the nearby Disney Lakeshore Lodge, there could be some distant noise or crane activity.
And since you’re celebrating such a special occasion, I’d definitely recommend a romantic dinner at
Storybook Dining at Artist Point, it’s whimsical and feels like stepping into a fairytale. A
horse-drawn carriage ride over at nearby Fort Wilderness could also be a magical addition to your stay. Oh, and be sure to pick up a “Happily Ever After” celebration button when you check in!
I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Eric. If you have any more questions as your trip gets closer, I’m always here to help.
