Welcome back to planDisney, Theresa! Thanks for stopping by with this great question. I'm happy to hear you're heading to
Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks, and I know this visit will be extra magical since you're bringing your grandson. I'd love to watch his face light up when he sees the iconic Cinderella Castle come into view or when he gives Mickey Mouse that first hug. Although Disney brings out the child in all of us, there's nothing like seeing little ones take it all in. And it sounds like you're planning to take some pool breaks, so let's dive into your question!
Theresa, since safety is one of Disney's five keys to customer service, life jackets are available to guests free of charge. The pools at most
Disney Resort Hotels offer a variety of sizes, and the under-30-pound life jacket should fit your grandson. In addition,
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be open during your visit and offers little guests complimentary life jackets. But no matter where you decide to make a splash, I'd suggest securing your life jackets as soon as you arrive since they are loaned out on a first-come basis.
I see you'll be traveling from the west coast, but if you have room, it still might be a good idea to bring a life jacket for your grandson just to be safe. You'll know it fits properly, and it would be more convenient to have it readily available. As long as the flotation device you bring is US Coastguard-approved, you should be good to hang ten!
I hope your vacation goes swimmingly, Theresa! Having fun with your grandson will be as easy as floating on a lazy river. Please feel free to
stop by planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
