Hello, We are traveling with a five year old and will require the use of shuttles from the airport to the hotel and to and from parks. Do we require a car seat? Do all the restaurants at the swan or dolphin require reservations for dinner? Thank you!

    Hi Robin!

    Welcome to planDisney!

My family personally never brings a car seat on our Disney World vacations. We tend to choose a shuttle to and from the airport (such as Mears Connect) in which we don’t need a car seat, or we book a private transportation company that provides car seats for us.

Around Disney World property, you will not need a car seat on any Disney transportation, including the buses. If you decide to book a Minnie Van to get to your destination a bit quicker, a car seat will be provided.

Now, let’s talk about food! The Swan and Dolphin have a very wide range of restaurants. While I highly recommend advanced reservations for the signature dining experiences, there are other quicker options that do not require reservations. You can find a full list of restaurants offered at the Swan and Dolphin here

I’ve had my eye on Rosa Mexicano. I’ve heard great things about that restaurant! I would recommend booking a reservation if you want to eat there, though.

It’s also good to note that you’ll be a short walk away from the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club. So, feel free to take advantage of eating at any of the restaurants there as well.  The Boardwalk even has the Pizza Window and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, so you can grab your food and eat while enjoying the entertainment there in the evenings.

My boys love watching all of the performers on the Boardwalk. They’ve even been lucky enough to be involved in one of the acts, and they still talk about it! The performer had my 5-year-old spinning plates on a stick! It definitely counts as a core memory for us.

Well, I think that wraps it up! As you continue to plan, let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!
