Pamela,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Yes, the Disney Resort Hotels will transfer your bags from one hotel to the other, while you enjoy another day in the parks! All you need to do is drop your bags off by 11 am to the Bell Services desk at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on the day you are moving. Let them know that you are moving to
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa that day. You can go on your way to whatever adventure awaits, while the Disney Cast Members will get the bags moved over for you.
As for boat transportation to
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, yes, you can boat there easily from either resort. While there is no direct boat route that connects either resort to the Wilderness Lodge, with just one transfer you can do exactly what you are looking to do.
What you want to do is either monorail or boat from the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian to the front of the Magic Kingdom. You do not have to enter the park, but instead from the dock right there in front of the park entrance you can catch the boat that will take you to the Wilderness Lodge.
Plan for at least a 45-minute travel time since you will likely have to wait for a boat or monorail to arrive during the two legs of the journey. But the ride is scenic, and well worth the time!
BONUS TIPS #1 & 2Let the
My Disney Experience App help you on your transfer day! Whether you are checking in, or checking out of a Disney resort hotel, let the app do the work for you. With the Direct-to-Room service checking in you don't even have to visit the front desk. Your room number is sent to your phone when ready. When you check out with the app, after a few quick swipes you can be off to your final adventures in a flash!
