Ahoy there, Werner!
Welcome back to
planDisney, how wonderful that you’ll be sailing the seas with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members in just a short time. I haven’t had the opportunity yet to do a DVC Member exclusive cruise with
Disney Cruise Line but I’m hopeful that I’ll experience it soon!
I took a peek at the itinerary for the
DVC Member “First Wave” Sailing to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, it looks positively dreamy! I hopped aboard the
Disney Dream in December for my planDisney training and couldn’t have had a more fun time discovering the ship, ports and Castaway Cay.
I spoke with
DVC Member Services today regarding your question. There is not an official formal night on your 5-night DCL cruise but often you will see passengers who are dressed in formal wear for dinner. The
dress code for evenings is “cruise casual” which means wearing shorts to dinner is acceptable but wearing a swimsuit is not. My fellow planDisney panelists opted to follow “cruise casual” for our dinners and felt like we fit in. Many of us packed for all occasions and then decided on what was most comfortable.
Speaking of packing, I’ll share a tip my fellow panelist friend and DCL specialist,
Shannon, gave me. She recommended packing anything I needed once boarded in a carry-on bag since luggage can take some time to arrive in your stateroom. I made sure to pack medication, cruise documents, identification and my bathing suit in my carry-on bag (I really wanted to try the
AquaDuck!) so I was ready for anything.
Werner, I hope this information is helpful. Please
let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help!
Happy sailing,
Candace
