Hello, Thinking of going to mickeys backyard bbq in December. Do they offer any type of heating if it is a cold night out? Going with elderly parents and children.

    Hi Elizabeth!

The holiday season is such a fun time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, not only because of all of the fantastic decorations, scrumptious food, and extra holiday pixie-dust, but also because the weather tends to be gorgeous!

Although it can get a bit chilly, in my experience, when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort in December, you will have ideal weather for your magical vacation!  Even though I am from Georgia, I am able to wear long pants and a light sweater and be completely comfortable in the parks, which is something I definitely would not be able to do in the heat of the summer!

That being said, since Mickey's Backyard BBQ is located in an open-air pavilion, and since you won't be walking around the parks, it may get a little chilly.  I spoke with a Cast Member at Mickey's Backyard BBQ who informed me that they do not have any heaters available.  That being said, you can always bring a blanket and bundle up your loved ones so that you can all have a rootin' tootin' good time!  Plus, if you get chilly, you can always hop on the dance floor with some of your favorite Disney Characters to warm up!

While you're visiting The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, make sure you check out all of the fun recreational amenities like Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long where you can warm up by roasting marshmallows over the fire!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
