Hello Our first Disney cruise was shorter - we have booked a 7 night on the Fantasy in late August. Is there a formal dinner night? We heard there was in the longer cruises. And how formal is formal when dealing with teens .... Thanks

    Ahoy Penny!

Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I'm so excited for you to experience all of the magic onboard the Disney Fantasy this summer!

Most seven night sailings do include both a formal night and semi-formal night.  This gives you two opportunities to dress to the nines and enjoy an evening out with your family!  During both special evenings, dressing up is optional.  I have seen everything from ball gowns and tuxedos to sundresses and khakis with button up shirts on these evenings.  It really is up to you!  Check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for details on when these events will take place during your sailing.

Your teens are welcome to dress how they feel most comfortable for these special evenings.  My tween son typically wears dress slacks and a button up shirt.  Often he changes after dinner and pictures before he heads to the youth clubs for the night.

Be sure to capture these moments with your family by purchasing a photography package before you sail.  Pre-purchasing your package ensures you get the best price.  Formal night is one of my favorite evenings to capture a family picture on the atrium stairs!

Snap back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before you set sail!
