Hello, My son and I will be visiting Savi's Workshop later this year. Understand that we can post his Lightsaber home; our suitcases aren't large enough and the airlines are tricky, trying to find an approximate postage cost to Australia please : )

Bright Suns, Melissa! You have truly found your fellow Jedi here at planDisney.

Soon you'll be traveling to a galaxy far, far away and will land on the planet Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. You need to keep an eye on stormtroopers patrolling the area, and make sure you're on the lookout for the First Order! Thankfully, it sounds like you'll be following the path of the Jedi as you create a lightsaber at Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers. The Force is safe in your hands!

Melissa, after wielding your lightsaber in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, we'll have to find just the right way to bring this precious cargo back to your home planet. I reached out to a Cast Member and, while lightsabers can typically be shipped home, they weren't able to confirm if this would include shipping internationally. But have no fear! I have two suggestions for you that I think can help prepare you for your galactic travels.

First, I would recommend speaking to a Cast Member at Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers, letting them know that you would like to ship your lightsaber back home after building it. They will be happy to let you know the necessary next steps to take if it's able to be shipped internationally. Then, they'll help you properly box up your lightsaber and you can take it to First Order Cargo where you can review your shipping options, including shipping rates. I was unable to confirm the expected rates from California to Australia, but from my experience, you can expect standard shipping rates from Disneyland Resort to your home.

However, there's a second option available to you! Melissa, a lightsaber built in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is TSA-approved as a carry-on (it's clear they're part of the Resistance!). You won't need to try to fit your lightsaber in your suitcase; just place it in your overhead compartment. Thankfully, the blade can be removed from the hilt if you need to create a little extra space.

While you're on Batuu, I'd also recommend trying some of the galactic grub to refuel after your long journey. Pick up a tasty meal from Ronto Roasters, and be sure to try the blue and green milk from the Milk Stand. If you do, send a transmission back to us with which flavor you liked the best. This is a topic that has divided the citizens of Batuu for years and we need one more vote to break the tie. Help us, Melissa. You're our only hope!

Wishing you and your lightsaber "good passage" on your journey back home! If you have any other questions, please visit us again. And may the Force be with you!
