Hello,my question is about the Welcome message on the TV in most Disney resorts. Can that message be personalized for a celebration? For example, Welcome Mouse Family. Happy Birthday Minnie

Welcome back to planDisney, AnneMarie! I'm so excited you're returning to Walt Disney World Resort soon. My family enjoys staying at Disney Resort hotels, and it sounds like you do, too. Perks like Early Theme Park Entry and complimentary Resort Transportation are too good to pass up. Seeing that welcome message when I walk into the room is the icing on the cake!

I chatted with a celebratory Cast Member who said those welcome messages are designed to be a pixie-dusted surprise and can't be guaranteed. But your best bet is to request your short message by calling Disney Resort Hotel Reservations as soon as possible. They'll make a note in your account and do their best to accommodate you. For an even better chance, I recommend you mention it again at the Front Desk when you arrive.

Time is of the essence, but you might also check into an in-room surprise. Follow the link on the In-Room Floral & Gifts page to see options for purchasing Disney-themed baskets, flowers, and balloons. My niece recently ordered a snack box for us, which was a magical treat to find when we arrived.

For a free birthday surprise, pick up a celebration button at the Front Desk or any Guest Relations location. I like to take mine to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park where they'll paint on a name for a small fee. You might be surprised how many people want to wish you a happy day!

AnneMarie, I'm waving my Fairy Godmother wand and wishing on a star that your visit will be practically perfect! Please feel free to stop by planDisney if you have any questions about future visits.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
