Hello, My question is how helpful is purchasing the dining plan that includes one sit down meal per day if you have very picky eaters? And have you ever skipped the dining plan and paid for your meals? What is your advice to me.

    Hi Chevon,

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to pre-pay for meals and helps with budgeting. It is also great when you have children under 9 or if you are planning on dining at more expensive restaurants because you could be saving money.

Picker eaters are tricky. I encourage you to look at the menus at some of the restaurants you want to dine at for a table service meal. Decide if you can dine here or modify the meal. I know we have ordered a steak without the sauce and it is fine. Table service restaurants generally have more flexibility to make substitutions than a counter service meal.

I have gone to Disney many times without eating on the dining plan. This was especially true when my youngest child was over nine but was not fond of the adult menu options. It is totally up to you if you want to dine on or off.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
