Welcome to planDisney, Sue! We are honored that you wrote to us regarding your daughter's upcoming honeymoon! I consulted with my friend and favorite UK mum,
Jane, and we've come up with some ideas for you.
Many moons ago, my Prince Charming and I went to Walt Disney World Resort after tying the knot. I understand entirely why your daughter chose the Happiest Place on Earth to celebrate her nuptials! Mickey and I think you are a sweetheart for wanting to arrange a special meal for her.
Currently, Disneyland Resort does not offer dining plans or vouchers, and after doing some checking, I also know that UK guests cannot purchase Disney Gift Cards. One thought, however, is to arrange a dining package for her. The two available are the
World of Color Dessert Party and the
Fantasmic! Premium Dining Package at River Belle Terrace. These packages can be booked online, but they sell out quickly; sometimes, there are cancellations at the last moment, so it's worth trying. If you are unable to reserve a package through the Disneyland website, try calling the free phone number for the
Walt Disney Travel Company at 0800 169 0730.
You may also want to consider gifting the new couple a Maestro prepaid card, a brand of debit card within the MasterCard family. If that doesn't work, you can give her a monetary gift for her meal. There are several places on Disneyland Resort property where
foreign currency may be exchanged for US dollars, including the Front Desks at the Disneyland Resort Hotels.
Here are a few other honeymoon ideas you can share with your daughter, Sue:
1. Visit
The Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A., for a pair of bride and groom Mickey ears.
2. Get Complimentary Happily Ever After buttons at City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure.
3. Book a couples massage at the
Tenaya Stone Spa at
Disney's Grand California Hotel & Spa.
4. Do a wine tasting at
Mendocino Terrace.
ChEARs to the happy couple, Sue! This is the magical start to their very own Happily Ever After!
