Hello, Looking for economic stay for a big family trip. Need to sleep 8, any ideas?? thank you, Heidi

Heidi, thank you for visiting planDisney with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! I am so happy you found us, and I can’t wait to help you plan the perfect visit to The Most Magical Place On Earth.

To plan for an economical trip, I always suggest checking out the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page before doing anything else. For example, there is currently a deal to save up to 30% on Rooms at Select Disney Resort Hotels When You Stay 5 Nights or Longer.  While this deal may not apply to the dates you plan on visiting, this is an excellent example of a special that could make your trip more affordable. Not only can you find some cost-saving deals at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, but there are also periodic deals on theme park tickets. As of this answer, there is a Special 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and a 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket (one visit to each park per day). Keep the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page bookmarked on your browser so you can stay updated on the latest and greatest.

If, by chance, there isn’t a special Disney hotel offer you can take advantage of, I would recommend you entertain the Value Resort Hotels:

    • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
    • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
    • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
    • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
    • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The All-Star Music Resort and Art of Animation Resort both feature Family Suites that can accommodate up to six (6) Guests and have separate living and sleeping areas, a kitchenette, and two (2) bathrooms. I recently toured the Lion King-themed suite at the Art of Animation and was blown away by the theming and attention to detail. For a group of your size, you could book one Family Suite and one standard room and request they be located near each other at check-in. Don’t forget, if you book a Family Suite at Art of Animation, you can enjoy multiple pools, fantastic dining and shopping options, and access to one of my favorite transportation options, the Disney Skyliner!

Want to stay all under one roof? Hakuna Matata (it means no worries)! The Deluxe Villa Resorts are an excellent alternative for large groups or families, featuring 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom options. These accommodations include separate sleeping and living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and in-room laundry. The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my favorite but would be on the high end of the price spectrum. The more budget-friendly Deluxe Villa Resort options would be Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

I hope this helps, Heidi! If you have any other questions about your upcoming stay, would like more in-depth opinions about resorts, or would like dining recommendations, let me know.

    See you real soon!
