Hello, Just wondering what would be better, - to book a two day park hopper or to book one day at DL and then one day park hopper? Thanks

    Hello Pamela!

Welcome to planDisney and we so appreciate you stopping by with your question! It looks like you're planning to visit the Disneyland Resort early next year and would like to explore your options. I'd be happy to help you.

Since you're thinking about next year, it's important to understand that prices are always subject to change and that Disneyland Resort Vacation Packages are generally not released until late summer the year before. For instance, packages for 2024 were released in the latter half of August last year, so that will likely be when your travel agent will be able to access them for you.

You ask a great question. It sounds like you're going to be focusing more on Disneyland Park and wants the flexibility of returning again if there's more you want to see. Personally, I think it's better to just purchase a 2 Day Park Hopper Ticket because the price of adding the Hopper option is one flat fee per ticket and costs the same whether you're adding it to a 1 Day or 2 Day Ticket. I tried working out the math for when buying two separate tickets would be advantageous and even that's difficult to predict because you'll be dealing with Ticket Tiers with 1 Day Tickets. Nevertheless, most of the scenarios I ran still had the 2 Day Park Hopper coming out on top. Plus, I think that there's a certain level of freedom that having a Park Hopper for both days gives you in case there's something you really want to see at the other Park!

Even though you've got plenty of time to plan, I'm still really excited for you! It's a long trip and I hope you have the most magical time! Do you know where you'll be staying? You can't go wrong with any of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, but my favorite is the classic Disneyland Hotel itself. There's so much history behind that property and I love how it pays homage to Disneyland Park itself. Of course, the Pixar Place Hotel just had its grand opening and I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the whimsical touches they've added, perfect for any Pixar fan!

Pamela, I hope that this helped you make an informed decision about your tickets. Please return again anytime you have more questions! We'd love to continue being involved in your trip planning!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
