Hello, I’ve been trying to book a reservation for my little one’s first hair cut at Harmony’s barber shop but it says that’s it’s currently unavailable and won’t open on the app? I’m just wondering if this is correct??

Hi Sidony, and welcome to planDisney! Getting a first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop is such a special experience, so let’s chat about how to snag this popular reservation.

If you’re in the U.K., currently, you can’t book Enchanting Extras through the Disney World website until you’re in the U.S. (and have access to the U.S. version of the website). Some experiences, like Fireworks Cruises, can be booked through the Chat With Us feature in the My Disney Experience app or by calling on the phone. So you might want to give that a try.

I see that on the U.K. Disney World website, it says Harmony Barber Shop is temporarily unavailable, but I spoke to a Cast Member who confirmed that it is indeed open. However, it looks like reservations are all booked for the last week in July. But, Hakuna Matata! My first recommendation is to keep checking for availability as you get closer to your trip, even after you’ve gotten to Disney World. Other guests are always changing their plans, and I’ve had good luck picking up hard-to-get reservations the day before or even the day of my visit.

Another option is to stop by Harmony Barber Shop in person to see if they have any cancellations or room for walk-ins. I’d suggest getting there as early as possible, or even right when they open. I’m wishing on a star that your kiddo is able to get their first haircut at Magic Kingdom!

Before I go, I wanted to share two tips for visiting with a little one. First, you can use the My Disney Experience app to see all of the attractions without a height requirement. In the app, go to the location icon at the bottom of the screen (looks like an upside-down teardrop). Press Attractions at the top and filter by Locations and Height. I usually press Show List in the bottom right corner so I can scroll and see everything that matches the criteria.

And second, don’t miss the Baby Care Centers in all four theme parks. They’re the practically perfect spot if your little one needs a quiet space to relax or eat. You’ll find rocking or gliding chairs, a changing room with tables, a feeding area with high chairs, and a kitchenette with a microwave and sink. You can also buy essentials you may have forgotten at home, like baby food, diapers, and wipes.

I hope you and your ‘ohana have a magical holiday at Disney World next month! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
