Hi there, Dan! It's nice to see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel again! I can tell you're a uber planner like me, and you're smart to start thinking about the details now.
Disney released its official face coverings guidelines recently, but there has been some confusion whether or not buffs (also referred to as neck gaiters) would be allowed. The Moms Panel received some clarification on this policy, and it was confirmed that gaiters don't have loops or ties, which is a resort-wide requirement, so they will not be permitted. Walt Disney World has updated its website, stating that face coverings must "be secured with ties or ear loops," and "are required for all Guests (ages two and up) except when dining or swimming." Of course, these things could change before your vacation in November, so keep checking the
Know Before You Go page for official up to date information.
My youngest son has been testing out face coverings in preparation for school (and our trip to Walt Disney World Resort this fall). I've gotten him a wide assortment of masks, including some fun Disney themed ones from Etsy. What he has found, however, is that he prefers the disposable, single-use masks I bought on Amazon. He says they are more breathable and comfortable to wear for extended periods. My good friend,
Samantha, has ordered masks from
shopDisney, and her family claims they are "made of the softest, comfiest cotton material!" Something to note, though, is that these masks run small, and they are very popular, so make sure to order yours well in advance. I bet we'll see Mickey and Minnie sporting these in the Parks!
I'm so glad you'll be returning to the magic soon, Dan! Please write back if there's anything else we can help you with!
