    Hello! I’m wondering which route the Melbourne cruise takes and if it is considered to be rough? I am trying to ascertain how I might be affected by motion sickness! Thank you, Erin

    I'm glad you asked your question. I am a sailor who feels the ship's motion, so I understand your plight. The answer to your question isn't definitive since the sea conditions, no matter where your itinerary takes you, depend on the route and the weather and your Melbourne cruise is no exception. The great news is that Disney Cruise Line ships have stabilizers to help control the motion and the Captain and Crew Members do their best to navigate toward smooth waters. 

    I do have a few tips to help curb any motion sickness you may feel!

    • Remember that the midship and the lower decks are usually the smoothest, so try hanging out in the Lobby Atrium and enjoy live music or Character Meet and Greets. Or spend time in spots like the D-Lounge for some family fun and games, or in Azure for adult-exclusive events. You can check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for a complete list of activities onboard.
    • I usually pack some motion sickness tablets and if needed, you can stop by Guest Services or the Health Center for complimentary motion sickness tablets.
    • You can also request ginger ale or green apples, which help ease your stomach.

    I've never had an issue with motion sickness on a Disney Cruise and I hope you will feel great with a few preventative measures, too.
