Hello, I’m hoping to book accommodation for January 2026 for my family to visit from Australia, is there a ETA on when booking might open up? Thanks in Advance Ashton

Hi Ashton! Welcome to planDisney! January is one of my favorite times of year to visit the Disneyland Resort. With cooler weather and often lower crowd levels, it’s the perfect season to explore the parks at a more relaxed pace. I’m so glad you stopped by as you start planning your late winter adventure!

As of now, the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are accepting reservations through December 31, 2025. While dates for 2026 haven’t been released just yet, they’re typically announced sometime in August. That timing can shift a bit from year to year, so I recommend keeping a close watch on the Disney Parks Blog. It’s usually the first place new information is shared about hotel availability and vacation packages.

Theme park tickets operate on a slightly different timeline. They tend to be released about 120 to 180 days in advance, though this can vary. Here’s some good news: tickets for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are already available through February 3, 2026. That means you can go ahead and purchase your tickets now, or just browse the pricing options as you wait for hotel reservations to open up. And if you're thinking about using Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll be able to add it when you buy your tickets.

If you decide to skip the Multi Pass, here’s a Q-Tip for your planning toolkit: take full advantage of those first few hours after the parks open. Mornings in January are typically on the cooler side and often come with shorter wait times. It’s perfect for tackling headliners like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while the lines are still manageable. Plus, there’s something especially peaceful about Main Street in the early morning light, with the soft hum of the park just beginning to wake up.

I hope this helps you feel one step closer to your magical Disneyland vacation, Ashton! If more questions pop up as you get further into planning, we’re always happy to help you here at planDisney.

    Wishing you pixie-dusted planning,
    David
