Hi Kianna,
The
Disney Dining Plan is a great way to budget all of your food costs ahead of time and make your vacation feel all-inclusive. I like to add a dining plan when my family wants to spend time sitting down and enjoying some fabulous meals at Disney World. You can get a lot of value out of the plan if you are going to make the most of your credits.
The official rule is that you can not trade credits from what they were originally intended for. For example, snack credits must be used for snacks. I have had a few experiences where cast members have allowed the use of a table service meal to purchase a quick service meal but I don't recommend this at all. Using a table service meal for a quick service credit is not a good use of your money when you break down how much you paid for it and there are several other ways to ensure you get the value out of it.
My favorite way to get value out of a table service meal that I may not use is to upgrade my dinner reservation to a Signature Dining Experience or Character Dining Experience. Both of these options will use 2 table service meals instead of 1 because the cost of the meal is much higher than a normal sit-down experience.
Fairytale Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table and
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall are both fabulous meals where you get to meet Disney royalty while you dine and are a great use of 2 table service meals.
If you are looking for something geared more towards the adults in your group, you can use 2 table service meals for a decadent Signature Dining Experience.
Le Cellier located in EPCOT has to die for food and a beautifully themed dining room. The Le Cellier Filet Mignon and Signature Poutine are often found in my Disney food dreams.
Topolino's Terrace is also a fantastic option that includes fireworks viewing if you time your reservation correctly. The food is some of the best in Disney World and they have a comfortable balcony you can go out on to watch the evening fireworks show during your dinner. I like to time my meal so that I finish right around the time the fireworks are starting so I can take my drink out there and enjoy it without worrying about my food.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
