Welcome back to planDisney, Sussan! I'm happy to help you plan your practically perfect vacation!
I must admit that I'm not the biggest fan of cleaning. I need my favorite nanny, Mary Poppins, to teach me that "in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun." I'm still working on how to tidy up a room by snapping my fingers! I love returning to my Walt Disney World Resort hotel room after a long day in the parks to see that the beds are made, and everything is "spit spot!"
A few years ago, select
Walt Disney World Resort hotels offered Disney Gift Cards as an incentive to participate in the "Service Your Way" program for those who declined housekeeping at select resorts. Unfortunately, it went away in 2020 when the resorts implemented "Modified Mousekeeping," which meant that cleaning was both enhanced and modified. Instead of daily cleaning, your room will receive light
housekeeping services every other day. These services will include: Removal of trash and used towels, replenishing towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom, wiping and cleaning the vanity and counter surfaces, and vacuuming, if needed. I spoke with Guest Services today, and they confirmed that the Service Your Way option has been permanently retired even if you decide to opt-out of any cleanings.
However, there are still many benefits to staying on Walt Disney World property. My favorite is
Early Theme Park Entry, which allows resort guests to arrive at any of the four theme parks up to 30-minute early each day. This is a great way to get a head start on some of the more popular attractions, such as
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, without having a long wait.
We hope you have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious vacation, Sussan!
